Amendment 1 would make district school board elections partisan starting with the 2026 general election. However, another ballot measure, approved by Florida voters in 1998, mandated in the state Constitution that those races be nonpartisan.

HJR 31: Partisan Elections for Members of District School Boards. Partisan Elections for Members of District School Boards; Proposes amendments to State Constitution to require members of district school board to be elected in partisan election.
